KHSD hosts trustee boundary meeting Monday night

News

The process of redrawing trustee boundaries for the Kern High School District continued Monday night.

Trustees got to view maps, showing proposed new boundary lines at a public hearing session Monday.

The Dolores Huerta Foundation wants the district to create two Latino-majority districts to give minority communities stronger representation.

Those who support the changes say it’s time all high schools are equal, no matter what part of the county they’re in.

A special board meeting is scheduled for May 21 where trustees could adopt a resolution that would redraw the district’s trustee boundaries.
