KGET TV-17 has been honored with two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for Breaking News and Excellence in Innovation https://bit.ly/2UxzDSu.

This is KGET’s third win in four years for Breaking News. You can watch our coverage of the RV chase through Bakersfield May 1, 2018 that stretched into May 2, 2018 across 5 newscasts here https://bit.ly/2ZxdYNE that won this year’s award.

KGET also won Excellence in Innovation for Two Jane Does: Murdered and Forgotten, as 17’s Olivia LaVoice reports the mystery of the rapes and murders of two young mothers who still have not been identified since the summer of 1980. Regional winners advance to the national Edward R. Murrow Awards competition, to be judged in May. The national awards will be announced in June and the awards will be presented at the RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala at Gotham Hall in New York October 14.
