Kern Schools hosting Community Recycling Day

Kern Schools Federal Credit Union is hosting a Community Recycling Day on Saturday, April 27. 

Community members can head to Bakersfield College in the baseball field parking lot and drop-off items to be recycled from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

Below is a list of items businesses will be collecting:


Advanced Data Storage: Personal shred – limit of 3 bankers boxes, no business shred 

BARC: Recyclables – cans, glass, plastics, newspapers, cardboards, books, and magazines. 

Alianza Recovery and Recycling, LLC: eWaste – computers (towers, monitors, mice), TV’s (all types), cell phones, and more! 

The Golden Empire Habitat for Humanity ReStore: New and nearly new home materials: windows, interior/exteriors doors, electrical fixtures, lights, fans, tubs, toilets, sinks, vanities, faucets, kitchen cabinets, etc. Gently used donation items: clothing, books, furniture and more! 

Bike Bakersfield: Gently used bicycles. 

Kern Green: Used shoes – Shoes will be donated or recycled depending upon condition. 

R&S Recycling: Non-working appliances. 

City of Bakersfield/Keep Bakersfield Beautiful: Large bulky waste/unusable items: furniture, outdoor/patio toys and furniture, etc.
