Kern Medical says employees are set to see their first pay raises in five years.
Kern Medical announced it reached an agreement with the local chapter of the Service Employees International Union.
When the hospital transferred to the Kern County Hospital Authority in 2016, the past agreement carried over.
Negotiations began in March for a new one.
The SEIU says about 1,600 employees will be affected by the changes. The agreement must be approved by the hospital’s board of governors.
