Kern County unveils lab to handle hazardous viral outbreaks

If it ever happened, Kern County Public Health is prepared for a worst-case scenario of a viral outbreak.

Public Health unveiled its new safety lab. It has heightened security to contain pathogens like Ebola if the virus ever got loose in Kern County.

The lab also allows Kern Medical to safely deal with more dangerous viruses they may encounter.

Security measures include having two sets of sealed doors just to get into the lab. Only one set of doors can be open at a time.
