If President Trump’s proposed Space Force happens, Kern County supervisors want to welcome it.
On Tuesday, supervisors adopted a position in support of establishing the first U.S. Space Force base, pursuing a future installation in Kern County.
Should it happen, it could mean high-paying jobs and development in Eastern Kern County.
The Pentagon has requested $14.1 billion to help the Air Force develop space warriors in its 2020 budget.
More than $72 million would go toward establishing a headquarters.
