The Kern County Museum announced that they reduced the price of their admission tickets.

Ticket prices to the Kern County Museum are now $5 for children 12 and under, down from the previous cost of $10.

The Board of Directors felt very strongly that all children in the community need to have better access to the village, according to the museum. Reducing the admission price for children will make this possible.

Along with the price reduction, the museum is now offering two new historic events to its School Tours program:

  • Photo Safari, a Chevron sponsored tour, is an interactive photo taking and editing experience that allows students to walk the village grounds with cameras, tablets, or smart phones.
  • ’52 Quake, presented by Omnipresent Puppet Theater, is a school assembly focused on plate tectonics and the compelling story of the 1952 earthquake that almost took Bakersfield to the ground.

The Kern County Museum is located at 3801 Chester Avenue in Bakersfield.
