Kern County Library’s book amnesty program ends Saturday

If you’ve been holding onto an overdue library book, time’s running out to return it without paying a fine.

The Kern County Library’s first-ever amnesty program is coming to an end.

You have until Saturday, Aug. 4 to return all overdue books and get your fines wiped clean.

The library is also accepting donations for Kern County Animal Services and CAPK’s Food Bank program.

You can donate any new, unopened animal care items and canned foods at the library.

You can also donate the following items to the library.

  • Baby Wipes
  • Bubbles
  • Classic LEGO Variety Pack
  • Clorox Wipes
  • Crayons & Markers
  • Color Pencils
  • Coloring Books
  • Craft Kits
  • Disposable Tablecloths
  • Duplo LEGO Variety Pack
  • Glue Sticks
  • Napkins
  • Paper Plates
  • Play-Doh
  • Safety Scissors
  • Sidewalk Chalk
  • Trash Bags
