Kern County hosts homelessness community meeting

The 2018 Homelessness Census showed a 9 percent increase in Kern County’s homelessness from the previous year.

A meeting is scheduled today to detail the county’s plan to combat the growing problem. At the meeting, Kern County Collaborative and other local leaders will give presentations and discuss a 10 year plan to address the issue.

The meeting is set for 10 a.m. at Kern County Administrative Center, First Floor Board Chambers, 1115 Truxtun Avenue.
