Kern County firefighters were on the corner of Olive and Knudsen Drives to raise money for March of Dimes, which funds research to help prevent premature birth and infant mortality.
Premature birth is the number one killer of babies in the U.S. and the leading cause of death for children under five around the world. Today, money was raised to help all babies get the best start in life.
Babies who survive early birth may have life long health problems and disabilities.
If you couldn’t make it out this morning, you can donate by texting the word ‘baby’ to 41444.
