Kern County approves 2 medical marijuana measures for November ballot

News

It’s official: Kern County voters will see two initiatives on the November ballot that aim to legalize medical marijuana dispensaries.

Before the vote at the Kern County Board of Supervisors meeting, community members pressed for the decision to be given to voters on whether or not medical marijuana dispensaries can set up within the county.

The motion was approved unanimously, with Supervisor Leticia Perez abstaining as she faces two misdemeanor counts related to a possible conflict of interest on the issue.

The board also said a report should be made detailing the differences of the initiatives for voters.
