Kern County Animal Services offering free vaccines for Parvo/Distemper virus

News

Free vaccines are being offered to protect dogs from two potentially deadly viruses.

Kern County Animal Services will be offering the Parvo/Distemper vaccines free of charge for both City and County residents.

KCAS says the easiest, most efficient way to protect both owned animals and shelter animals from Distemper is by increasing the community animals’ immunity through vaccination.

Symptoms of the disease include:

• runny nose

• watery eyes

• fever

• lethargy

• and neurological symptoms like twitching

Clinics are held every Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

The shelter is located at 3951 Fruitvale Ave.
