KCSO to continue search for man missing in Kern River since June

Kern County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue crews will search the Kern River this weekend for a person missing since June 

Search and Rescue crews are searching for Juan Torrez who went missing on June 3, 2017 while swimming in the Kern River near Lake Ming.

On Jan. 27, 90 volunteers with KCSO Search and Rescue will search about 12 miles of the river from Hart Park to the Golden Gate Avenue bridge.

Crews will begin their search starting at 7:30 a.m. 

KCSO officials said the volunteers have spent over a thousand hours and 15 search missions to locate Torrez.
