The Kern County Sheriff’s Office celebrated a wave of promotions with a special ceremony Wednesday afternoon.
Eleven men and women with the office, sergeants and deputies alike, were promoted.
The ceremony took place at Sheriff’s Auditorium on Norris Road.
Sheriff Donny Youngblood said he’s very proud of the group and says having these ceremonies and honors public is important for their job.
“You know in today’s world communication with the community we serve is of upmost importance, so that supervision level is critical in making sure we get our message out in what our role is and why we’re here,” Youngblood said.
The sheriff says the group promoted served a variety of roles in the office and come from storied backgrounds.
He says their experiences bring a lot of expertise to the team.
