Each year, animal shelters across the country pledge not to euthanize any adoptable pets for “Just One Day.”
On Monday, June 11, Kern County Animal Services will open its doors and offer pet adoptions for free. The national event is also aimed at making Kern a “No Kill” county, for just one day.
The Bakersfield shelter located at 3951 Fruitvale Ave. will be open 11 hours on Monday, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. The Mojave and Lake Isabella shelters will also offer adoptions, but only between 10 a.m and 4 p.m.
