Kern County Sheriff’s Office released additional information about Fernando Pruneda, a McFarland High School basketball coach arrested for sexual misconduct charges.
On Oct. 9, a McFarland High School student reported inappropriate sexual contact with a McFarland High School staff member, according to KCSO.
Through the investigation, detectives learned Pruneda was attempting to obtain sexual favors from the student and had possibly touched the student inappropriately, according to KCSO.
Pruneda was arrested on Oct. 14 at the McDonald’s in McFarland. He was booked for five felony charges including lewd acts with a minor.
McFarland High School released a statement on Monday.
Pruneda will be in court Oct. 22.
