A Bakersfield classic is getting a reprieve.
The Jolly Kone’s sign from the closed Wible Road and Belle Terrace location is getting saved by the Kern County Museum.
The museum confirmed it’s working with the city to save the sign. Vital Signs will take the sign down Monday and transport it to the museum.
The Jolly Kone closed its doors on March 1 to make way for the Centennial Corridor Project. The bridge over Highway 99 there will be rebuilt to fit more lanes.
