More than a hundred turned out Thursday for the first-ever job fest in Wasco.
The Human Services Department hosted the recruiting fair at Wasco’s Veterans Hall on Poplar Avenue.
The event hosted nearly 20 employers from different fields from the sheriff’s department to fast food spots to local health care providers.
“This is a great way to meet them face to face in person find out what kind of people the employer’s looking for, be interviewed on the spot and sometimes get hired on the spot,” said Miguel Salazar, a Social Service Supervisor.
Salazar says employers had about 300 job opportunities available.
