It was a ‘Night to Shine’ in Bakersfield

Prom night – a first for many at the “Night to Shine” prom in Bakersfield.

“This is my first prom and I don’t know what to expect. But, so far so good!” Savannah Terrazas told us as she had glitter sprayed into her hair for prom.

“Night to Shine” celebrates the people in our community with special needs.

“It’s just a night to celebrate them,” organizer Brian Conlee said. “Let them know that God loves them. They’re made perfect and they deserve a prom, so we threw them a prom.”

Sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation – “Night to Shine” wasn’t just in Bakersfield. More than 500 churches nationwide and in 16 different countries celebrated a total of 90,000 kings and queens Friday night.

Including a lot of local royalty!

A total of 200 prom kings and queens ranging in age from 14 to 75 were crowned in Bakersfield Friday night.

“Dancing with all the pretty chicks,” was Travis Hennaberry’s favorite part of the night!

For everyone, especially the giving volunteers at Crossroads Christian Fellowship who made this night possible, it was a celebration to remember.
