California Highway Patrol began reporting the crash just before 6:30 p.m. on northbound I-5 south of the Twisselman Road off ramp. A total of seven individuals and four cars were involved in the major collision.
Two juveniles were pronounced dead on the scene. It appears one of them was wearing a seatbelt, while the other was not, according to CHP.
Officials have not released the names or ages of the two killed.
The other six passengers were sustained minor injuries. They were all transported to a local hospital.
CHP says debris in the road may have caused the crash.
