Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Taft Correctional Institution Saturday, Jan. 6.
Javier Torres, 29, escaped from the Taft Correctional Institution around 11:17 a.m., on Saturday. Authorities said they discovered his absence during a routine inmate count.
The facility houses around 550 low-risk federal inmates. It does not have a perimeter security fence or armed posts.
Torres is a convicted drug dealer, serving ten years in federal custody. If anyone has any information on his whereabouts, call 911.
