KGET’s 17 Days of Christmas Toy Drive
You can make the holidays a little brighter for some less fortunate kids in Kern County by taking part in our 17 Days of Christmas Toy Drive happening Nov. 30 through Dec. 17.

We’re teaming up with the Bakersfield Homeless Center and the Boys & Girls Club, to collect toys for less fortunate kids and teens in our community. You can help by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy at any of the three locations during normal business hours until the end of today:

  • KGET Studios
    2120 L Street
  • Bakersfield Homeless Center
    1600 E Truxtun Avenue

CHiPs for Kids
The CHiPs for KiDs Toy Drive is happening through December 17. The California Highway Patrol is asking for new and unwrapped toys to be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Bakersfield CHP – 9855 Compagnoni St.
  • United Way – 5405 Stockdale Hwy #200
  • All local Walgreens stores
  • KERO 23 News Station at 321 21st Street

  • Motor City GMC

  • Both Carneceria La Carreta locations

On Friday, Dec. 7 CHP will be downtown, on the corner of Chester Ave and 28th Street, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the toy drop off event.

Toys for Tots
Organizers are trying to fulfill the wish list of 23,000 little ones right here in Kern County who are in need.

If you would like to donate to Toys for Tots, you can drop off toys at the marines recruiting stations:

  • 4725 Panama Ln # D18
  • 3501 Mall View Rd

Color Me Mine and Robson Jewelers at The Marketplace will have a toy collection box inside of their stores through Friday, Dec. 7. You can also call 706-5861 for more information on where to donate.

Stuff the Bus – Christmas for Seniors
Kern County Christmas for Seniors “Stuff the Bus” drive is coming up Nov. 30 at the KGET Studios from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. We are looking for the following donation items listed below for the over 1500 gift baskets that will be made for low income, home bound, or isolated seniors in Kern County.

And, If you would like to adopt a grandparent for the holiday you can also go to the Christmas For Seniors office and grab an ornament with their Holiday wish list. Kern County Christmas for Seniors thanks you for the help & support.

Jamison Center Toy Drive

The Jamison Center is asking for gifts for young children and teens. 

Toys for ages 6 to 17 year olds
Board games
New clothes: Up to size 6X, youth-adult up to 3X
Hooded sweaters, pajamas, shoes, under clothes, etc.
Gift cards for teens and “tweens”
Beauty and hygiene products

The gift drive is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at AJ’s Tuxedo on 2527 F St.
