It’s October, the leaves are turning, pumpkins are ready for picking and there are places locally that are ready to help you get into that Halloween spirit.

Murray Family Farms

All this month Murray Family Farms is celebrating its October FunFest. Every day, the farm has got it all: hayrides, a pumpkin patch and a corn maze.

Through Oct. 31 opens at 8 a.m. through 8 p.m.

Weekend days are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – $13.99
WEEKEND 1-3 YEARS OLD – $5.99

Weekdays are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday – $10.99
WEEKDAY 1-3 YEARS OLD – $4.99

Banducci’s Family Pumpkin Patch

Banducci’s is now open too.

The pumpkin patch is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Admission to the pumpkin patch is free, while a trip into the corn maze or on a pony will cost a little extra.

Keep in mind, the cornfield maze is only open during the day during regular business hours.

Entry to the maze is $10.00 per family (up to five people), or $3.00 per person.

The maze closes once the sun begins to set, so times will vary. Ponyrides are available on Saturday and Sunday, but check for hours.

Matt Changala Farms

Mat Changala Farms is opening the first weekend in October.

The farm opens on Oct. 6.

Pick a pumpkin to decorate your home or with your children.

The farm is located on Highway 65 just north of the Kern and Tulare county line. They’re at 1311 Highway 65 in Ducor to be exact.
