UPDATE: Man arrested in Lake Isabella slaying

UPDATE (May 20): Sheriff’s officials say Juan Angel Acevedo, 37, was arrested on suspicion of murder in Aulston’s death. He’s held without bail and is due in court Monday.

Acevedo was arrested about 9:40 a.m. in the 3600 block of Wible Road, deputies said.


UPDATE (May 16): Family have identified a man found dead Thursday in Lake Isabella.

Family says his name was Timothy Shawn “Chance” Aulston. He was 30 years old.

The sheriff’s office has not provided more information on the case.

LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. (KGET) — Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found dead here Thursday afternoon.

Deputies were dispatched at 12:14 p.m. to the 1600 block of Curran Way, where a wounded man was found, according to a sheriff’s release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s name had not been released.
