The Better Business Bureau has put out an alert to residents after receiving calls about a potential scam involving schemers posing as technicians for Tel-Tec Security.

One homeowner was contacted by a man who wore no uniform, but claimed he was a Tel-Tec technician who needed to check the homeowner’s security system.

Tel-Tec says they’re technicians always wear uniforms and badges with ID numbers, and drive branded company vehicles.

If you’re approached by one of these scammers, call police and then call Tel-Tec at 397-5511.
