17 News was on scene of a standoff in South Bakersfield where law enforcement surrounded the building and initially detained around 20 people, interviewing them and searching them for weapons one-by-one.
Police got a report of a possible man with a gun inside an internet casino located in the Apna Plaza on White Lane and S. Union Avenue.
Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Highway Patrol officers and Bakersfield Police officers all responded to the scene.
KCSO SWAT officers eventually entered the casino but did not find any additional suspect with a gun.
Many who were initially detained were let go, and told us KCSO just wanted to “bust up the casino.”
In the end, no shots were fired, no firearm has been found, and no one was injured.

During the standoff, Leo G. Poly Elementary School, Plantation Elementary School and South High School were on lock down, according to the schools. The lock downs have since been lifted.
White Lane between Gordon and S. Union is closed.
