Bakersfield’s “Little Iron Man” is making an appearance this weekend to help kids in need.
Dezmen Licea — who goes by Dezi — was born in 2017 with a heart defect so rare, only one in 20,000 babies ever have it.
His family was told he would not live long, but he’s still alive and is the 2019 Children’s Miracle Network ambassador, helping other babies become miracles too.
On Saturday, Feb. 23, he’ll be at the Hearts for Dezi blood drive for Houchin Blood Bank.
The drive is happening on Bolthouse Drive, just off Buena Vista Road.
You can donate blood yourself by stopping by between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
