Halloween 2018: Trick-or-treating events around Kern County

We told you where to go to grab your pumpkins, and now we want to tell you where to get your candy and celebrate the Halloween holiday safely! 

Below is a list of Halloween events happening around Kern County.

  • Bike Bakersfield’s Halloween Full Moon Ride – Beach Park, Oct. 23 from 7 to 10 p.m.
  • 8th annual Trunk-or-Treat event with Assemblymember Rudy Salas, Councilmembers Chris Parlier and Willie Rivera, South Bakersfield Kiwanis Club, Bakersfield Professional Firefighters and the Bakersfield Police Department. – Planz Park, Oct. 25 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
  • SJVC’s Respiratory Therapy’s Truck-or-Treat – 6657 Meany Ave., Oct. 26, 5 to 8 p.m. ($5 per child)
  • Fun, Dark and Spooky Night at the Museum – Buena Vista Museum of Natural History, Oct. 26 & 27, 2018 Chester Ave.
  • Optimal Cares’ Halloween Car Show –  Oct. 27, Bakersfield RV Resort 10:00 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • Victory Outreach Southwest Bakersfield Church’s Harvest Festival-Safe Street Event – Oct. 27, 5:00 p.m. To 8:00 p.m. At Patriots Park
  • Kern County Sheriff’s Office & BPD’s Safe Trunk-or-Treat – Oct. 29, 5 to 7 p.m., 1700 Flower St.
  • McFarland Police Department’s Annual Cops and Candy Halloween Event tonight, Oct. 30, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and is being held right in front of the Police Department and City Hall complex at 401 West Kern Avenue, McFarland.
  • Kern County Sheriff’s Activities League Annual Harvest Festival hosted by Sheriff’s Activities League (SAL) of Lamont, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at David Head Center, 10300 San Diego St. in Lamont. 
  • Bakersfield Police Department’s first-ever  “Trick or Treat Meet and Greet”. – Oct. 31, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., 1601 Truxtun Ave.
  • Main Street Tehachapi Trunk-or-Treat – Oct. 31, 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Safe Halloween at Pioneer Village – Oct. 30 & 31, 5 to 9 p.m., Kern County Museum
  • Ridgecrest Coldwell Banker Trick-or-Treat Costume Contest – Oct. 31, 12 to 5 p.m.
  • Halloween at the Library – Oct. 31, events being held at Kern County Library branches in Bakersfield, Delano, Mojave, Tehachapi and more
