Democratic candidate for governor, Antonio Villaraigosa, toured through Bakersfield Friday afternoon.
Villaraigosa visited the Bakersfield Homeless Center and met with crew members whose lives have been changed the center’s job development program. Democratic Assemblymember Rudy Salas was also there.
“Middle class jobs are not just jobs that come with a college education. … We need a lot more people graduating with a college education. But, we need a lot more carpenters, and plumbers, and electricians, and operating engineers because we got to build again.”
