An Arvin High School chemistry teacher will be laid to rest this weekend, after he was killed in an alleged DUI crash.

Scott Demmunik taught at Arvin high for nearly 20 years.

Demmunik’s funeral is Saturday, Dec. 23 at the Greenlawn Cemetery on Panama Lane.

He was killed earlier this month in a car crash on State Route 223. Police say the other driver, Kylie Sluder, slammed head on into Demmunik’s vehicle while under the influence of drugs.

Sluder has pleaded not guilty to multiple felony charges.
