Our local K-9 pups are in need of some protection as they take to the streets.
On Saturday, Marley’s Mutts, Bakersfield police and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office are teaming up with Motor City Auto Center to raise money for bulletproof vests for the K-9s.
The sheriff’s office and police departments are are in need of vests for them. The average cost of a vest is $2,000.
Both departments will be in need of vests along with other training equipment for years to come.
To donate, head to the Motor City showroom at 3101 Pacheco Road. The fundraiser is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28.
