They’re not bonafide historians yet, but one group of students are on their way.
Students from the Fruitvale School District who will be competing in the National History Day tate championships showcased their projects.
Each student was a winner in his or her category in the county-wide competition back in March, and will move on to the state-wide championships.
Evan Taw has been participating for four years.
“History tends to be a learning experience that we can reflect on the past and say ‘This happened. We may not want to do this, or may want to take this action in order for us to reach a certain goal or to prevent an event from happening,'” he said.
The state championships will be held in Rocklin on May 10 through May 12.
