Free vaccine clinic this weekend


Kern County Animal Services is holding a free vaccination clinic this weekend.

The clinic is being organized in response to cases of Distemper virus diagnosed in dogs in the East Bakersfield area.

The symptoms of Distemper can be coughing, vomiting, and many times is accompanied by a loss of appetite and lethargy. The safest way to protect your animal from this illness is through vaccinations.

The clinic is Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. It will be held at Heritage Park on the corner of Mount Vernon Avenue and Ridge Road.

Only the first 500 dogs will receive vaccinations.
