The murder of a Bakersfield father of four remains a mystery. Saturday marked the 4-year anniversary of his death.

On Sept. 15, 2014, Matt Odom, 28, was found stabbed to death outside his Northwest Bakersfield home on Waterbury Drive.

His brother, Chris Odom, accused Matt’s ex-wife, Sumers, and her new husband, Garrett Holden, of playing a role in his death.

The Bakersfield Police Department have made no arrests and no suspects have been announced.

“We’re trying to cope with the loss but also trying to keep the story going, his name alive,” said Chris Odom. “You know we got a killer walking the streets, we’re just basically hoping for justice.”

According to Chris Odom there are new detectives on the case who say they are actively investigating his brother’s murder.

If you have any information on Matt Odom’s case, call BPD at 327-7111.
