A former Sierra Middle School teacher’s aide was sentenced this morning for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy back in May.
In a plea deal, 25-year-old Edward Gonzalez pleaded no contest to one count of a lewd and lascivious act with a child of 14 or 15. He was sentenced to two years, and must register as a sex offender for life.
He also has a 10-year restraining order against him so he can’t make contact with the victim.
Gonzalez met the boy at a Bakersfield party in May. The teen went to his home in the 10 block of Tyree Toliver Street where Gonzalez sexually assaulted him, police said.
The 15-year-old was not a Bakersfield City School District student, police said.
