Former Bakersfield Condors player Matt Thurber died Monday at the age of 28, according to team representatives.
Representatives did not say how Thurber died.
Thurber was a member of the hockey team during the 2013-14 season, helping them advance to the Western Conference Finals.
Thurber leaves behind a wife and 1-year-old daughter.
His death comes nearly four months after another former Condors player, Andrew Carroll, died at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago.
Carroll, 32, committed suicide in January by jumping from an upper level of the airport, according to the Chicago Police Department.
