Retailer Forever 21 will pay thousands to former employees to settle a lawsuit over an alleged “English-only” policy at its stores.

Cause was found against Forever 21 in a complaint filed with Fair Employment and Housing.

Three employees alleged the company prevented them from speaking Spanish at work, claiming the employees were to only speak English in an “English-only” environment.

The suit also alleged that Forever 21 retaliated against the three men after they complained about their policy by reducing work hours and subjecting them to harassment and hostility.

As part of the settlement the company has agreed to end its alleged “English-only” policies and will pay out $90,000 to the complainants.
