A man is dead after he was stabbed overnight at a hotel on Union Avenue.
Kern County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Bakersfield Lodge for reports of a stabbing around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to KCSO.
The injured man was found inside his white car less than a block away.
He was taken to Kern Medical where he was pronounced dead, according to KCSO.
Following the stabbing, the suspect fled. He’s described as approximately 35 years old, five feet eight inches and weighing about 185 pounds, according to KCSO.
The suspect was wearing a white tank top style shirt and dark colored shorts.

The fatal stabbing brings this year’s homicide count to 60, meaning Kern County is on track to have its deadliest year on record.
