Family searches for missing man in Delano

UPDATE: Within the hour after this report aired, Gerardo Ramirez made contact with family and let them know he is safe.

A family is asking the community for help tonight locating their missing son in Delano. The mother of Gerardo Ramirez says her son was raised in Delano, but moved to Reno for work about two years ago. She says he’d just moved home and had only been back in Delano for a matter of days before he vanished.

22-year-old Ramirez, whose family calls him “junior”,  was last seen on Friday night around 9:30 pm, leaving his friends house on Quincy Street in Delano. Friends say Ramirez told them he was getting a ride home from his brother and his brother’s friend, but they say he got into a white car they didn’t recognize, and his brother says he was never asked to give Ramirez a ride that night.

Family and friends are now left wondering if it wasn’t Ramirez’s brother-or his brother’s friend, who was behind the wheel of the mystery white car that night? Family says Ramirez hasn’t been on social media since he was last seen Friday night, which they call very unusual. They also say it’s out of character for him to disappear like this.

If you have any information on gerardo ramirez’s whereabouts, you’re asked to call Delano Police at 721-3377, or you can remain anonymous by calling Secret Witness at 322-4040.
