Election Day 2018: What you need to know

Voters across Kern County head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 6, to elect a U.S. senator and congressman, governor and lieutenant governor, and state House and Senate members.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

You can also drop your ballot off on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at any polling place.

Officials say your vote-by-mail ballot will only count if it is post marked by Nov. 6.

Beginning at 8 p.m. on Election Day, 17News will be live for four hours until midnight on our website kget.com, and on our KGET Facebook page.

We’ll have reporters fanned out across town. 17’s Jim Scott will be live with republican candidates and Telemundo’s Jose Gaspar will be live with democratic candidates.

Tune in and follow along with our hashtag, #KernVote.
