Edwards Air Force Base installs new commander

Edwards Air Force Base is under the command of a new leader.

On Thursday, Brigadier General Carl Schaeffer handed his command to fellow Brigadier General E. John Teichert for the 412th Test Wing.

Gen. Teichert recently served as commander on Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, but earned his wings at Edwards, graduating as an Air Force test pilot in 2003.

He commanded a test flight squadron and directed the F-22 combined test force.

The 412th test wing has a personnel of over 8,000 people to test aircraft currently in development.
