Friday was “Earned Income Tax Credit” Awareness day.

A celebration was held at the CAPK VITA, or Volunteer Income Tax Assistance office on 19th Street.

The credit is for low to moderate-income individuals and families, especially those with children.

The IRS says about 20% of people who quality for the EITC fail to claim it.

VITA offers ‘Free’ tax help to people who make $60,000 a year or less.

If you would like to make an appointment with the CAPK VITA Program, or you would like to volunteer, call 834-1820.
