Charges dismissed in domestic dispute that ended with child's death

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A judge has dismissed charges against an Oildale couple accused in a domestic dispute that ended with a child run over and killed.

Tony Ronald Santiago and Clara Rose Marshall each faced two counts of willful cruelty to a child.  Those charges were dismissed Wednesday during their preliminary hearing.

The CHP says in May 2016, Santiago and Marshall were in an argument at their home.

As Santiago backed out at a high rate of speed, running over both of Marshall's children, who gathered out front.

Marshall's 9-year-old son died, her teenage son suffered minor injuries.
