Local hospitals are raising awareness of diabetes this week.
Dignity Health Mercy and Memorial hospitals is holding a free symposium at the Community Wellness Center, Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Dignity says it will feature valuable advice on how to manage your diabetes with healthy cooking and exercise.
The Community Wellness Center is located at 2436 G St. in Bakersfield.
Another event, in Spanish, takes place on Nov. 8 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
