A KCSO deputy encountered an especially frisky subject while responding to a call in Oildale this week.

The sheriff’s office posted pictures of the feline caper on Instagram.

The sheriff’s office said this happened in the early morning hours of Feb. 17 in the 200 block of East McCord Avenue.

KCSO deputy Ramirez was talking with a woman in a vehicle, the cat decided to get involved and climbed up the deputy’s pant leg.

Ramirez tried to brush the cat off, but the cat dug in and continued until finally getting to the deputy’s shoulders.

The cat, informally deputized as Deputy Mittens, eventually climbed down and went on its way.
