Delano police are investigating two shootings just an hour apart on Monday night.
Chief Robert Nevarez said the first shooting happened at 7:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Ellington Street.
A man in his 50s was shot in the head. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
Nevarez says the shooters were in a black, older model vehicle.
The motive for the shooting is unknown.
A second shooting happened just an hour later at around 8:30 p.m. a few block away in the 100 block of Glenwood Street.
Nevarez said a 24-year-old man was shot in the leg outside his apartment.
The man was taken to Kern Medical and is also expected to survive.
No arrests have been made.
The Delano police gang unit is investigating.
