Delano police arrest 20-year-old for murder, search for 2nd suspect in Clinton St. killing

Delano police said officers arrested a man in connection to killing on Clinton Street on June 8 and are now have an arrest warrant for another man.

Officers arrested 20-year-old Juan Alvarado on Thursday afternoon in the killing of Jaime Herrera. Alvarado was arrested when he was leaving his home in Delano, police said.

Alvarado was arrested for murder and several other felonies according to police.

Meanwhile, police in Delano said they issued an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Gabriel Jacob Tarango, also from Delano. Police said Tarango is a second suspect in Herrera’s killing and should be considered armed and dangerous.
