Four people were shot and killed in three separate incidents over an 18-hour period this weekend in Bakersfield.
The latest shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Sterling Road in East Bakersfield, where a man and woman were found dead in the front yard of a home just south of Pioneer Drive.
The family of the man killed said he lived at the home and they did not know who the woman was.
Seven hours earlier, around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, a man was shot to death at the intersection of Sandstone Lane and Mountain Ridge Drive.
The Bakersfield Police Department said the man crashed his car into a trailer parked along the curb.
Saturday around 2:30 p.m., two teenage boys were shot on Fambrough Drive near South High School.
One of the teens died. The other is expected to survive, according to BPD.
Law enforcement did not say if any of these shootings were related.
The latest shootings bring the total count of homicides in Kern County to 26.
