One of Bakersfield’s favorite bakeries is closing its doors.
In a release, De Coeur Bakeshop said it is closing after five years in Bakersfield and its owner Mai Giffard has accepted a new position at a Chicago restaurant.
“De Coeur loosely translates to ‘Of the heart or from the heart’ in French, and a big part of my heart will still be with Bakersfield, there have been so many life events that the community has allowed me to share with them”, Giffard said according to a press release.
De Coeur will remain open through Friday, Dec. 22 but with limited hours from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All orders pre-placed through Dec. 30 will be fulfilled but won’t accept new custom orders.
Giffard added all gift cards can be redeemed for full cash value.
