A man and the person he hired to rape his own wife, have been convicted of rape the District Attorney’s office said Monday.
Kern County District Attorney Lisa Green announced the convictions of Haliki Green Jr. and Russell Higgins after the two conspired in the rape of Higgins’ wife at her home in Tehachapi on March 4, 2016.
In a release, the DA’s office said both men went to the victim’s home and waited inside her bedroom as she returned from work.
Both then proceeded to tie and bind the victim’s hands, physically restraining her from leaving the bedroom where Higgins told Green to rape her.
Both Green and Higgins had separate jury trials, and on April 26, a Kern County jury found Higgins guilty. Higgins will be sentenced on May 24 and faces a potential sentence of 50 years to life in prison.
Green, Jr. was found guilty on Monday on multiple counts which include: rape in concert, assault, and false imprisonment. Green is scheduled to be sentenced on June 7 and also faces a potential sentence of 50 years to life in prison.
